DEL RIO, TX - Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and other Republican governors surveyed the U.S.-Mexico border Wednesday and unveiled a plan to address the border crisis.
The plan contains ten points; continue Title 42 public health restrictions, fully reinstate the Migrant Protocol Protections, finish securing the border, clear the judicial backlog, resume the deportation of all criminals, eradicate trafficking, and send a clear message to potential migrants.
Ricketts says the Biden Administration must also end the Catch and Release Program.
"This was an Obama era program that was terminated under the Trump Administration and restarted again by the Biden Administration. What this does is incentivize people to come across the border illegally, because they are then released. That is creating a crisis not only here at the border, but across the country."
Ricketts also says the border should also be properly resourced.
