NORFOLK - Two individuals were hospitalized after a three vehicle accident at an intersection on the edge of Norfolk Monday afternoon.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 35 and Benjamin Avenue.

Two vehicles were northbound on Highway 35, when they collided with a westbound vehicle in the Benjamin Avenue intersection. All three vehicles were towed from the scene due to the damage sustained.

A Norfolk resident, Lupita Pena, and a Hoskins resident, Christian Heppner, were both transported to Faith Regional Health Services for their injuries.

The third driver, Kristina Betz of Norfolk, left the scene with minor injuries.

The accident is currently being investigated by the Madison County Sheriff's Office and charges are pending.
