NORFOLK - A Norfolk man was arrested yesterday after reportedly assaulting a female.
Captain Mike Bauer said police and Norfolk Rescue responded to an assault call in the 1400 block of Lakewood Drive around 1:15 p.m. Once inside, they found a female with a visible laceration on her head and bleeding.
The female reported that 39-year-old Christian Santana struck her in the head with a cell phone, grabbed her head causing a cut to the interior of her cheek, and threw her against a wall and into the bathroom tub. Crews transported her to Faith Regional Hospital for treatment
Officers located Santana in a parked car in the 1500 block of Benjamin Avenue and tried to talk with him. They noticed blood on his wrists, and when asked to step out, he locked the car, closed the window, and refused to ext.
Santana eventually complied and was arrested for second-degree domestic assault and obstructing a police officer.
