NORFOLK - A Norfolk man was arrested Sunday after on an arrest warrant out of Madison County, as well as other charges.
Captain Mike Bauer said police were attempting to serve an active arrest warrant on 39-year-old Nathan Eschliman at a hotel in the 1200 block of South 13th Street. Officers were allowed inside a room he was in and ordered him to come out from under the bed where he was hiding.
Eschliman initially refused, but then complied. He also refused to show his hands, placing them under the bed and then in his waistband.
Police tased him and attempted to take him into custody. During that time, he struggled with officers and resisted being put in handcuffs. Underneath the bed, officers recovered a black zipper pouch containing methamphetamine and a syringe.
Eschliman was arrested for the active Madison County warrant, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
