A Norfolk man is dead following an accident north of Norfolk on Victory Road.
According to Nebraska State Patrol Public Relations Director Cody Thomas, at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, The Nebraska State Patrol was dispatched to a fatality crash involving a pickup and a utility vehicle.
The crash occurred just north of the Industrial Highway on Victory Road. A Chevrolet Silverado, driven northbound on Victory Road by Lloyd Spreeman, age 91, of rural Norfolk, struck the left rear of a UTV that was parked in the northbound lanes on a bridge on Victory Road.
Howard Remmich, age 79, of rural Norfolk, was in the UTV and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Remmich was pronounced deceased at the scene. Victory Road will be closed in the area for an undetermined amount of time due to damage the bridge sustained in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation. The Norfolk Police Division, Norfolk Fire Division, Stanton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Madison County Attorney and Sheriff’s Office assisted.
