Ross County, OH - A Pierce man was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday on an arrest warrant out of Madison County.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says Marshals located and arrested 33-year-old Cody Johnson in Ross County, Ohio after an arrest warrant was issued on May 3rd. Johnson is being charged with first degree sexual assault of a child.
Back on April 28th, Norfolk Police responded to a report about child sexual assault. According to the arrest affidavit, a woman told officers that her daughter disclosed to her that Johnson had been sexually assaulting her since she was six years old.
In an interview with the Northeast Nebraska Child Advocacy Center on May 1st, the victim reiterated her statement of Johnson sexually assaulting her. She said that the assaults happened in Norfolk until she was 10, but continued once Johnson relocated to Pierce.
A court hearing will be set once Johnson is extradited back to Nebraska. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison, as well as an additional 4 years for a second felony related to the alleged sexual assault.
