Creighton's Nembhard's Buzzer-Beater Stuns Salukis in Paradise Jam Finale

Ryan Nembhard made a ten-foot floater at the buzzer which capped a game-ending 12-2 run in the final 3:51 as Creighton men's basketball defeated Southern Illinois, 66-64, in the third-place game of the 2021 Paradise Jam.  Ryan Kalkbrenner had 14 points and five rebounds, Ryan Hawkins netted 13 points and six boards, and Nembhard totaled twelve points, five assists, and four steals in the victory.  The Bluejays took a 32-28 halftime lead in a close game that neither team own a lead of more than four points. 

The Salukis were paced by 14 points each from Marcus Domask and Lance Jones, and Jones also added nine rebounds.  Earlier yesterday, Nembhard was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.  Creighton, who is now 5-1 overall, returns to the mainland for Saturday's 5:00 home game with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
