Norfolk High softball enters Omaha World Herald rankings at number six

The Omaha World Herald has updated its high school softball rankings.  Omaha Skutt remains number one in the ‘Nebraska Top 10’ & Class ‘B’ with Wayne falling out of the Class ‘B’ rankings.  In Class ‘A’, Lincoln Southwest is the new number one in Class ‘A’ and Norfolk High enters the rankings at number six.  In Class ‘C’, Bishop Neumann is once again first and West Point Guardian Angels Central Catholic stays at number four.

The State Softball Tournament gets underway in Hastings on Wednesday.  Regarding area teams, seventh seeded 28-14 Norfolk High faces 27-5 second seeded Gretna in the Class ‘A’ bracket at 9:00 AM.  In Class ‘C’, third seeded 22-7 West Point Guardian Angels Central Catholic meets sixth seeded 22-7 Freeman at 2:00.
